There are some people that come up to me and ask if the foods that they eat can really have a positive impact on their sex lives. They’re probably referring to the articles that spring up over the internet that certain foods can have an impact on your libido.
Well, as of the time of writing this article, there are no scientific evidence that back this claim up which means that foods, at least for the time being, may not increase your libido at all.

However, the foods that you eat can affect your mood and energy which are two things that are at play when you are having some sexy time with your partner.
That being said, there are best foods for men’s virility but since there is no scientific research on that yet, we will just focus more on the foods that actually provide you with some substantial benefit- may it be to your sex life or for your overall health.

Make Your Hormones Happy

Hormones are very important to our bodies because they are responsible for the many different processes that happen to your systems at any time.
Sex hormones like testosterone and estrogen both reside in the body of both men and women (though men have higher T levels and women have more estrogen than men).
As we age, there is a natural decline of these sex hormones and that is why older people might seem that they do not have the energy nor the drive to have sex with their partners anymore.

The good thing is that the foods that you eat can have a positive impact on your hormone production. Foods like Avocado and Asparagus, for example, are known to provide you with hormone-producing benefits thanks to the nutrients that these foods have.
Protein is another thing that you should think about if you want to improve your sex life. Aside from the obvious muscle-building benefits, protein can be broken down into amino acids which not only promote adequate blood flow to the different parts of your body, but they also do a lot of different things as well.

Aphrodisiacs are foods that are thought to improve one’s sex drive. Well, I do not know exactly if it does improve one’s libido, but what I can say is that the things that are found in aphrodisiacs could potentially improve one’s sex life.
Some foods that I would recommend are:

  • Basil- This herb is a good source of iron and magnesium which can help provide you with some much-needed energy for sex
  • Garlic- Although this is unflattering when you consume it during dinner, garlic can improve blood circulation in the body, as well as it provides a lot of different health benefits
  • Oysters- Its rich mineral content can help improve sperm quality and quantity and it is also popular for improving one’s sexual prowess due to the fact that its nutrients can help improve one’s stamina.
